Earth Friendly Lawn Fertilization

To avoid fertilizer burns wait 4-6 weeks between fertilization applications. Check the label for iron content. Remove the product from the walkways before watering or rain to avoid stains.

Benefits from using earth friendly lawn fertilizers will be a healthier soil and lawn. This will help reduce the overall maintenance for the lawn. Lower percentage of N-P-K will also help reduce any run off that can end up in our waterways.

1. Season long Soil Activator
   
   Soil Activator is a safe and natural way to help break down your grass clippings and return to the soil valuable nutrients found in them. Soil Activator will help promote chelation (mobilization) of available nutrients, and promote the growth of beneficial microorganisms. Beneficial microorganisms will help lessen the severity of lawn pests and diseases.
    
2. April 15 – May 1st Corn Gluten
   
   Corn Gluten acts as a pre-emergent and a limited post-emergent, which helps control broadleaf and grassy weeds.
    
3. Memorial Day Apply Pro Rich
    
4. Grub Control Beneficial nematodes
   
   Beneficial nematodes are microscopic roundworm that will help control white grubs (they pose no threat to people or pets). Start applying late May or early June.
   
   Milky Spores controls white grubs of Japanese beetles only. Three applications per year for two years will provide up to 10 years of control.
    
5. July/August Fertilization is not recommended. However,
   Milorganite may be used with minimal threat of burning. 
6. Labor Day Apply an Earth friendly-based fertilizer.
    
7. Halloween Winterize. Apply once the lawn has stopped growing for the season.
