Connecting People with Nature

The beauty of nature. It’s something everyone can experience. Hands in the dirt. Helping something grow.
Taking a moment to let it take hold and inspire us.

Helping our community embrace the beauty of nature – it’s why we’re here! And with that, we’re building partnerships with those who feel the same way. Keep reading to learn about the four pillars that shape these partnerships and our giving.

Community Habitat Conservation

Habitat Conservation

Whether it’s conserving or restoring natural prairies, wetlands, and other local habitats, we care a lot about supporting healthy ecosystems here in the Great Plains. For living communities they sustain. For the incalculable value in their functioning. And for the vast beauty they bring to the earth.

Community Urban Ecosystem Health

Urban Ecosystem Health

We’re all about blurring the lines between the natural and the built – welcoming nature back to the city and letting it model the way we shape our urban landscapes. So projects that involve things like native plants, rainwater gardens, or diverse urban forests are the kind of collaborations we can really get excited about.

Human-Nature Interaction

We believe that every member of our community deserves to experience the beauty of nature in everyday life. Whether it’s learning to grow your own food, discovering the plants of the prairie, or finding peace through a meditative garden, we’re committed to improving our community’s access to these experiences.

Immigrant Services

Maureen and John Mulhall immigrated to Omaha in 1953, starting Mulhall’s out of their Dundee garage a few short years later. And now, three generations later, immigrants continue to play a central role in making this place what it is – bringing energy, optimism, and a welcome diversity of perspective. In collaboration with key partners, we’re working to help empower immigrants in our community to live with confidence and free from fear.
